USA – The Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) the national umbrella organization of all youth and student organizations, charged with the responsibility to superintend and coordinate the activities of young people across Liberia has set an initial leadership structure to coordinate the Federation of Liberian Youth USA Chapter.
According to the President of FLY, Amos Williams, the establishment of the diaspora chapter is in keeping with the 2018 Revised Constitution of the Federation.
The FLY’s President stated that diaspora communities are gradually being integrated into their home countries development agenda. This evolving trend within the global development space conveys the relevance of the Liberian diaspora as strategic partners in rebuilding the country. The Federation of Liberian Youth recognizes this trajectory and intends repositioning herself to tap into the young Liberian Diaspora. Using an innovative mechanism.
Mr. Williams stated that FLY seeks to strategically harness the potential and expertise of its fellow young citizens and those of Liberian descent interested in the country’s socio-economic development. Against such backdrop, FLY intents creating a viable path that connects Liberian youth domestically and internationally through its Diaspora Chapters. Through the Diaspora Chapters FLY will create corridors to bridge the gap between Liberian youth at home and abroad the FLY’s President asserted.
The FLY’s boss further disclosed that those appointed to stir the affairs of Federation USA Chapter include Mr. Joe Wilson, Diaspora Coordinator, FLY-USA, Mr. Gabriel M. Carter, Deputy Coordinator-Resource Mobilization, Mr. Moses B. Jackson, Jr. Secretary General, FLY-USA and Madam Rose-Joy D. Karmoh as Outreach & Mobilization Lead.
Mr. Williams also stated that technical modalities are being worked out to have the Federation of Liberian Youth USA’s Chapter officially launched in the next few months.
