Ambassador Endee, touring several communities in Montserrado and Margibi Counties over the weekend, said her visit was the organization way of saying thanking those who registered thank everyone who registered.
“We have enjoyed peace over ten years,” she said to residents of West Point and New Kru Town.
“We are now going into elections in 2017.
We went through a peaceful voters registration. Crusaders for Peace went to the communities.
We worked in the 15 counties, promoting a non-violent voters registration. We’ve been very successful, we have completed our task, and we are looking at our children’s future.”
In the township of West Point and the borough of New Kru Town, she donated assorted materials including rice, oil, stationeries and cash to parents and children.
Describing Madam Endee as the traditional queen of Liberia, the Governor of New Kru Town, Alice Weah, and the chairman of the council of elders of West Point, Willie Toe, thanked the Crusaders for Peace for their active role in restoring and maintaining the peace in Liberia.
Speaking earlier at the Christian Association of the Blind (CAB) National Resource Center and the Christ Victory International Orphanage Home (CVIM) in Duazon, Margibi County, where she also donated assorted items of food and non food materials, the LCP Executive Director thanked CAB National Chairman, Beyan Kota and CVIM Director Hannah Gborie for their sacrifices to the country.
“You are playing a significant role in our society. You are helping children that you don’t know.
So I have come to say thank you for all of the support; for even going to the voters registration center to register. You have made a significant impact in the lives of ordinary Liberians.”
In response, Mr. Kota thanked Ambassador Endee for the gesture and praised her for her numerous contributions toward the promotion of peace not only in Liberia, but the sub region as well.
He said her visit is a concretization of their friendship and called on her to include some of the talented visually impaired children in her cultural program.
“As a culture ambassador, to come here today for us is an honor. You can take time to see the talents we found in these children as well.
They can be included into your cultural program.
You can build their talents, to be cultural ambassadors; especially Semah (a talented nine year old boy), while at the same time he’s learning to read and write and building his intellect.
Your role as a culture ambassador is also envisioned in your call to ensure inclusion for every sector of Liberia: the blinds and those with other disabilities, going to the ghettos and the slums to preach peace,” he intoned.
He made a passionate appeal to Ambassador Endee to help complete the girl’s dormitory septic tank which costs US$1,000.
Organizations visited also include the Association of Blind Couples in Bernard Farm Community and the Doe Community Islamic School in Bushrod Island.
