
Monrovia – Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Liberia, Mr. FAN Erwei, spoke at the 74th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, reaffirming the strong bond between China and Liberia under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and President George Weah.

During the event held at the Chinese Embassy over the weekend, Mr. Erwei emphasized the enduring friendship between the Chinese and African peoples, with Liberia being no exception. He stated that China and Africa have a long history of collaboration, forming a community with a shared future and mutual interests.
“This year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi’s introduction of the principle of sincerity, real results, amity, and good faith, aiming to pursue greater good and shared interests in China’s relations with Africa,” Mr. Erwei remarked. He continued, “Over the past decade, China has steadfastly practiced this principle, resulting in significant progress in China-Liberia relations, thanks to the joint leadership of both countries’ Presidents and the support of friendly people from all walks of life.”
Mr. Erwei highlighted the fruitful outcomes of cooperation between the two nations in areas such as economy and trade, medical and healthcare, infrastructure development, and human resources. He stressed that these achievements have improved the lives of the people in both countries.
Furthermore, Mr. Erwei shared that China is embarking on a new journey toward fully establishing a modern socialist country, working to promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through a distinct Chinese path to modernization. “We firmly believe that China’s new developments will create more opportunities for Liberia’s progress. We stand ready to collaborate with our Liberian counterparts to deepen our cooperation and undertake more projects to enhance people’s well-being. Together, we aim to realize the shared dream of a happier life for the people of both nations,” Mr. Erwei said.
