Monrovia—Cestos Mogars have qualified for the Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) first division championship grand final for the first time, after securing their second straight win over NPA Pythons in their best-out-of-three playoff games.

Cestos Mogars also defeated NPA Python in the first match of the best-out- of-three series on August 18, 2024 with 72 points to 68 points and followed it up on Tuesday with an 83 to 79 points win.
Mogars will play LBA first division defending champions Mighty Barrolle in the grand finale.
Mighty Barrolle won her first game in her best-out-of-three play-off first encounter against LPRC Oilers 56 to 42 points and also defeated Oilers in what was a one-sided match 70 -39 points.
Cestos Mogars head Coach Zayzay G. Gizzie appreciated his players for their perfect ball control and finishing touches, which he added contributed immensely to their victories in the league, but hoped that they would win the championship.
He called on his players to maintain their great ball control and in the final against Barrolle if they are to win the league championship
Said Gizzie: “I take this time to first pay homage to my players for the great ball exhibitions and finishing touches they continue to demonstrate against our opponents from the start of the LBA national league until we have finally qualified for the grand finale. I’m appealing to the team to continue so that our long dream of winning the LBA first division title will come to light.”
