Monrovia – Catholic Relief Services (CRS) will officially launch its new five-year Country Program Strategy on November 18, 2025, at the Monrovia City Hall.
The launch will be held under the theme “In Their Own Hands.”
The strategy outlines CRS’ priorities from 2025 to 2030 and details how the organization will work with the Government of Liberia, donors, and both international and local partners to mobilize resources and support the country’s most vulnerable communities.
CRS, the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States, has worked in Liberia since 1957. Over the years, the agency has supported communities through programs in health, peacebuilding, education, agriculture, emergency response, and youth development. As part of its global mission, CRS serves people in need regardless of religion or background, promoting human dignity and lasting, sustainable change.
For the next five years, CRS’ strategic plan will guide its work toward transformative, locally led development in four priority areas health, Water, Sanitation, and Nutrition, education, agriculture, livelihoods, and landscapes and emergency response.
According to a CRS’ release, the strategy also integrates cross-cutting themes—including peacebuilding, gender equity, and youth empowerment—across all program areas while aligning with national development goals and global humanitarian efforts.
The launch event will bring together Church leaders, government officials, multilateral and bilateral donors, international and local partners, media representatives, and CRS staff.
Participants will hear about CRS’ past achievements, be introduced to its future directions, and explore interactive booths showcasing successful projects and innovative approaches.
The event aims to raise awareness about CRS’ work in Liberia, strengthen partnerships with the government and donors, foster collaboration among stakeholders, and highlight strategic priorities that will shape future development efforts.
CRS invites government officials, multilateral and bilateral donors, Church leaders, and media institutions to attend the launch and contribute to shaping a more resilient and prosperous Liberia.
