Bropleh ‘Shot Himself in Legs’: HandPump, Palava Hut For Commoners Nonsense!

The Editor,

I need not to be silent again! It is about time that I begin to speak and write….I got seriously frustrated and disappointed two days ago when I listened to Dr. Bropleh on State Radio-ELBC, thereby considering “Doing Projects like hand pumps, Palava huts, etc…, as NONSENSE! It is not surprising because Dr. Bropleh has never drank from hand pump, and even sat in Palava hut.

His entire life history has been drinking expensive mineral water, living in luxury homes, driving expensive cars and eating bake chickens, etc.

For me, I will appreciate every citizen who would impact the lives of ordinary Bassonians by their own efforts of constructing hand pumps, Palava Hut, provisions of scholarships, etc. Those who embark on these projects should be commended, holding on all factors constant.

Our Bassa People have their parable, which says Soe Za Gboe Wein Baa,

In English means chicken must begin starching from the doorsteps. This parable tries to inform us that a good person efforts of belongingness must be seen where he lives, and comes from.

Now these are my questions: When did Dr. Bropleh realize being a Bassa man? When did he realize that Grand Bassa County needs to be developed?

Let me unequivocally inform all of you that Dr. Bropleh does not fix in the Bassa’s tradition; this is why he does not understand how our people live, what they need most, and how they speak.

In 2010, when I served as President of the Grand Bassa University Student Union (GBUSU), I had some interactions with Dr. Bropleh when he was conducting his professorial lecture at AMEU, while serving as Minister of Information.

Realistically speaking, he cannot boast of assisting any Bassa university students or citizens in terms of scholarships and employment. He did not even attend any activities ranging from the student community and the county at large.

This is disheartening and shameful seeing Dr. Bropleh claiming himself being a Bassa man. Again, when did Dr. Bropleh became a Bassa man?

He got to realize when he was mandated to resign as Minister of information, with his frustration secretly came to Grand Bassa County at night and later created the desire to contest which, he was miserably beaten in the Representative race.

Let me say to him that Grand Bassa County isn’t his home! We have many tangible information about him which will be revealed later or sooner!

Please don’t waste your time, the Bassa people aren’t stupid of electing you.

To end on this note, our county not just need an eloquent, talkative or well educated representative or senator.

At this critical juncture, our county needs a true son to unseat Hon Gabriel B. Smith comes 2017.

A son whose dream is to see our county becomes better, that our people will receive what best necessary for them.

A son who have demonstrated to the Bassa people honestly, patriotism, integrity, and overall, a son who continues to address the plights of the people.

Former President, Grand Bassa University Student Union (GBUSU)
