Borough Youth Academy Marks First Anniversary with Community Celebration In New Kru Town

Monrovia – The Borough Youth Football Academy, one of Liberia’s emerging grassroots football programs, is set to celebrate its first anniversary on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the D. Tweh Football Field in New Kru Town, Bushrod Island.

Founded on October 7, 2024, the academy has grown rapidly under the leadership of its head, Socrates Boyenneh, and has been instrumental in shaping its vision of youth empowerment through sports. The anniversary celebration will mark a year of progress, discipline, and talent development within the Borough of New Kru Town Community.

The day’s event will feature a friendly match between Borough Youth Academy and Tahoe FC, showcasing the academy’s young prospects who have impressed in various local friendlies and competitions.

In addition, guests will enjoy awards and recognitions, entertainment, and refreshments, as part of a day designed to celebrate unity and achievement.

Speaking ahead of the celebration, Boyenneh said the milestone represents the academy’s resilience and community spirit.

“This first year has been about building a foundation not just for football, but for character and discipline,” Boyenneh said. “We are proud of our players, coaches, and supporters who have believed in this vision from day one. This celebration is for them.”

Over the past year, Borough Youth Football Academy has provided structured training and mentorship for dozens of children, emphasizing education and personal development alongside football skills. The initiative has earned praise for offering young people positive alternatives and opportunities within New Kru Town and beyond.

The management of Borough Football Academy has extended an open invitation to all football lovers, community leaders, and supporters to join the celebration as the academy looks ahead to a promising future in youth football development.
