Monrovia – In December 2023, former President George Manneh Weah reappointed Lassana Sannor as Deputy Secretary General at the Roberts Flight Information Region. Under the terms of the appointment and the Revised Agreement between the three Mano River Union countries – Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, the position of Secretary General shall be permanently filled by Liberia for a renewable term every four years.

Monrovia – Shortly after his election last November, President Joseph Boakai promised that his administration will take a close look at mining concessions to ensure they benefit Liberia. In the President’s view, Liberians have not benefited from the mining sector, despite the country’s rich mineral reserves, including diamonds, gold, iron ore and timber. “To be frank with you, the mining sector has been one of the problems in this country. I have seen our resources exploited and the life of the people remains the worse,” Boakai said, in an interview with Reuters toward the end of 2023.

Monrovia – Since the election of President Joseph Boakai, the name of former foreign Minister Augustine Ngafuan has been ringing. An old hand at the Ministry, Ngafuan, served as Foreign Minister from 2012 to 2015 under the presidency of Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf. He is also a former Minister of Finance. Monrovia – An investigation by FrontPageAfrica has discovered that both President Joseph Boakai and his Vice President Jeremiah Koung ignored major red flags prior to the nomination of Mr. Cooper Kruah as Minister of Justice. Cllr. Kruah, according to more than 150 pages of court records, was found guilty of unethical practice as a lawyer by the Grievance and Ethics Committee of the Supreme Court of Liberia. However, then Chief Justice Francis S. Korkpor failed to enforce the said judgement due to his personal relationship with Cllr. Kruah, according to documents in possession of FrontPageAfrica.
