Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – The Liberian delegation to the annual pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia has arrived safely. According to a dispatch from the Embassy of Liberia in Riyadh, a special flight conveying 127 pilgrims from Liberia landed safely at the King Adul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The flight took off from the Roberts International Airport Wednesday concluding attempts to ensure Liberia was represented at annual pilgrims to the Holy City.

BUCHANAN, Grand Bassa − ArcelorMittal Liberia has completed a round of International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) training, for at least 240 port workers and users in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. ISPS is an essential security measure put in place following international terrorist attacks. The code is implemented by the International Maritime Convention (IMO) as an amendment to the Safety of Life at Sea convention. MONROVIA – The Liberian Registry is now officially listed in the United States Coast Guard’s list of Qualship 21 flag State Administrations.  Qualship 21 is the United States Coast Guard (USCG) program that was implemented to identify high-quality ships and provide incentives to encourage quality operations.  Liberia was notified in March of 2022 that all Liberian flagged vessels would be eligible to enroll in the Qualship 21 program on July 1, 2022 onward.  Liberia is now the largest flag State Administration in the world to be enrolled in the Qualship 21 program.

Monrovia – The Liberia Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority (LMHRA), attention has been drawn to a recent pseudo-social media (Facebook) post as well as inquiries from some media institutions; claiming that the Comptroller of the LMHRA, Mr. Steve N. Bundor, was “Wanted” for absconding from the country; after withdrawing over US$150,000.00 from the entity’s account.
