Monrovia – TipMe Liberia won the Emerging Fintech Award at the 2022 Reputable Banks & Fintech Awards (RBFA) held in the United Kingdom in June. TipMe has been selected amongst the top 50 most reputable Bank & Fintech institutions in Africa. TipMe Liberia’s CEO, Laureine Guilao, and Board Member, Jonda Koffa, represented the company at the awards in Glasgow, Scotland.
MONROVIA – Former Vice president and standard Bearer of the former ruling Unity Party Joseph N. Boakai made a site visit over the weekend, at Cooper Road, Rehab where three children lost their lives as a result of a deadly house fire. “It’s a very sad situation and especially the fact that children died as a result” Hon Boakai stated. MONROVIA – Amara Konneh returned to Liberia Saturday after nearly six years in abroad, vowing to contest the 2023 elections as a Senator. The former finance minister, however, didn’t say which position he would contest and in which county, amid speculation that he was returning to contest in Gbarpolu as senator.
MONROVIA – The Elections Coordinating Committee (ECC) said, it welcomed the use of Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) for the conduct of the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections, but with caution. The ECC is the largest civil society platform that observes elections in Liberia and is comprised of several pro-democracy organizations including the Center for Democratic Governance (CDG); Center for Media Studies and Peace Building (CEMESP) and the Center for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding (CECPAP).
