MONROVIA – Following the just-ended high-level summit between the Government of Liberia (GoL) spearheaded by the Governance Commission (GC) and CSOs under the umbrella of the National Civil Society Council of Liberia (NCSCL), both partners have signed a communiqué for mutual cooperation and collaboration. The communiqué, which was signed in the post city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, called on government and CSOs to see each other as partners with CSOs maintaining their independence with strong, well-intentioned, and genuine long advocacy discussions on strengthening the partnership.

On November 10, 2022, the Liberia International Non-Governmental Organization (LINGO) Forum, a network of more than 50 International NGOs working across the Republic of Liberia convened a cross-section of members for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Monrovia. MONROVIA – On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, the Government of Liberia and the Republic of France, represented by the Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), signed US$ 1.2 million as a grant financing agreement geared towards an ongoing scholarship program. The signing, which is considered as a boost to the country’s economy, will finance phase 2 of the ongoing “scholarship program”, and will provide additional opportunity to over forty Liberians youth to study at the Institute of National Polytechnique Houphoet-Boigny, in the Ivory Coast.
Abidjan – The Board of directors of the African Development Bank Group has approved financing for the Emergency Food Production Program in Liberia, paving the way for the government to support farmers to increase climate resilient food production and mitigate the impact of the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Board approved a grant of $2.28 million and a loan of $2.84 million from the Bank’s Transition Support Facility, on 22 November 2022.
DOHA, Qatar – Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. AMB. Dee-Maxwell Saah Kemayah, Sr. held a bilateral meeting with the Director General of Qatar Fund for Development H.E. Khalifa bin Kassim Al-Kuwari on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. According to a dispatch from the Embassy of Liberia in Qatar, the meeting centered around the recent assessment visit to Liberia by representatives of the Qatar Fund for Development.

And one way we can do that, is to introduce a program called; ‘initiation without mutilation’. It will be nearly impossible to go into communities and tell people to abandon their traditional beliefs. It won’t happen in Liberia, if we tell the people to close the bush schools…
