Monrovia – The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has banned central Referee Josephus Torjilar for two years with immediate effect. The Football House’s decision followed an investigation of bribery allegations against the referee. The investigation was conducted by the FA’s Grievance and Disciplinary Committee and Integrity and Compliance Officer Morris Nahndi Barsi Giah. Monrovia – Sinkor-based Cece United have won the Central Monrovia Fourth Division community league. Cece defeated Mondee United 3-1 in the grand-final at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on 7 August. Monrovia – Liberia’s champion, Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) Oilers, marked their return to Confederation of Africa Football Champions League with a narrow 1-0 victory over Senegalese champion, Generation Foot, Sunday, August 11, at the Antoinette (ATS) Tubman Stadium. Banjul, The Gambia – Liberia defeated Gambia 1-0 in a female under-20 international friendly at the Independence Stadium in Banjul on 9 August.  Agatha Nimene scored in the 33rd minute from a Paulinho Agbotsu assist to hand the visitors a good measure of revenge following a temperamental 3-2 defeat to Gambia on 6 August. Monrovia – The Under-20 female national football team of Liberia will engage their counterparts from Gambia in two international friendlies, disclosed the Football House. Since Mustapha Raji took over the LFA, the male Lone Star has been involved in four friendlies in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea. Monrovia – Liberia’s national team’s departure from the Roberts International Airport to Dakar, Senegal was delayed for 12 hours due to what authorities of Ivorian company Air Côte D’Ivoire term as a “technical fault.” The local based national team was due to depart the country for Senegal to honor their second-leg African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier following their 1-0 win, on Sunday, July 28.
