The 18-year-old midfielder was a starter in his debut match for Hammarby AA’s first team since signing for the club in early April 2024.
Coach Hellberg Kim’s side went down early with Nikola Vlasic’s brace and Daleho Irandust’s strike before the hour mark in the match, with Divine scoring his first European goal in the 69th minute of the game to reduce the deficit to 3-1 as the game finished up in favor of the home side after the full-time whistle.
According to reports, the Bajen (HIF) are set to confirm in the coming days, whether the former Nimba FC player will play for the club upon the resumption of the Swedish Allsvenskan League.
The 18-year-old exhibited exceptional performance with the Hammarby U23 team, thus prompting coach Hellberg Kim to hand him a starting role with the first team in a trial match against Brommapojkarna.
Meanwhile, fans back in his native Liberia are hoping that his goal will attract more minutes for him with the club’s senior squad in the coming season.
Teah has been studying football with the Massa Football Academy before making a sensational switch to Nimba FC, where he demonstrated his talent, before making a breakthrough in the Liberia Football Association First Division League.
In 2022, his breakthrough led him to cap with the Senior National team of Liberia (Lone Star), which caught the attention of several clubs in Europe, including Sporting CP, Gent, AC Milan, and Bayer Leverkusen, but it was Hammarby who acquired the services of the super left-footed midfielder on a big contract worth around €150,000.00) from Nimba FC.
