Monrovia – The Under-20 female national football team of Liberia will engage their counterparts from Gambia in two international friendlies, disclosed the Football House.
Since Mustapha Raji took over the LFA, the male Lone Star has been involved in four friendlies in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Equatorial Guinea.
It will be the first time the female team will showcase their talents under Raji’s administration which is key in developing women football, too.
According to a release published on the official Facebook page of the LFA on Saturday, August 3, a 29-man Liberia Football Association (LFA) delegation is expected to depart Monrovia for Gambia on 5 August and return on 11 August by Asky Airways respectively.
While in Banjul the Gambia, Liberia female under-20 will play two international friendlies with Gambia on 6 August and 9 August.
The delegation, which is headed by LFA executive committee member (ECM), Cllr. Joseph M. Kollie, includes LFA ECM Jodie Reid-Seton and journalist Edwin Boyd Dolo of Renaissance Communications Incorporated.
The rest includes the newly-appointed technical staff made-up of head coach former BYC and Liberia three-time best coach Robert Lartey, deputy coach Famatta Dean, goalkeeper coach Robertson Warner, administrative manager Gayduo Kennedy, medic Lydia Grant Boi and caretaker Constance Miama Bowman-Prempeh.
The technical staff, which has been working for more than three weeks, have finally selected 20 players, who underwent medical and physical examinations and a period of training sessions.
They were all firstly selected from clubs that participated in the 2019 LFA female league.
The team completed their final training session this morning at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) ahead of departure.
