Monrovia – With few days to elections in Liberia, Montserrado County District #3 Representative Candidate Patrick Komoyan has warned his supporters to avoid the normal complacency syndrome practiced by most followers who are carried away by the crowd.

Instead of relying on the huge crowd factor, Komoyan said it would be important that electorates, most especially his supporters hold together in ensuring the kind of change needed in the district.
His comment follows his official campaign launch that displaced huge followers on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in his district.
“Today I want to tell the people of District #3 that enough is enough because you are tired of bad leadership and we are prepared to change the bad regime and turn the district over to who it belongs to. Let us not be complacent but hold together and continue to work,” Komoyan said.
Komoyan noted that only with collective work can the people of Montserrado County District #3 experience the kind of change they ought to over the years.
He said the lack of a proper leadership structures in the district is affecting development, pledging his commitment to restructure the district leadership in 100 days for proper work.
The ANC Montserrado District #3 aspirant noted a network among various communities across the district will fast track its work and improve infrastructure development for its people.
“A network among the business community, motorcyclist, pastoral network, teachers youth, women group among others in providing a district leadership is cardinal on our agenda,” Komoyan intoned.
As a man who has an experienced with all of these sectors, serving as a plastic bag seller, rice-by-cup seller, taxi driver and community leader, the representative candidate said he feels the pain of his people and thinks the consideration of their plights will greatly impact his administration when elected lawmaker.
Komoyan also committed himself to giving back to the district 25 percent of his salary, which he said would further addressed crucial developmental issues that the district would be faced with while awaiting public development fund.
He believes it is too early to voice out his election strategies but cited one key issue that would serve as a bond between him and his people as a written document that will compel him to do the people’s work by force.
Addressing the issue of health, education and empowerment, Komoyan reminded supporters of his key role play in ensuring that the Pipeline Health Clinic was erected while serving a community chairmanship role in the Pipeline Community, something he named as an evidence of his vision to focus greatly on the health sector.
He wants citizens of his district to give more attention to improving health and sanitation, expressing the need that funding be provided specifically to address the oozing garbage situation at Wein’s Town that lies in some parts of Montserrado County District #3.
Komayan wants a technical college be provided with District three that would help in skill training of most disadvantage person who he believes are roaming the streets due to unemployment and poverty.
“There are proliferations of high school graduates who have nowhere to go because some of them are unable to pay university fees, while at the same time the financial constraints their parents face cannot allow them to enroll in universities and vocational school could be an option for them,” Komoyan averred.
Mr. Komoyan also noted that any other person could be successful like him who started his struggle as a plastic bag seller, but the need to empower communities to reach their peak is essential.
The Representative hopeful asserted that vocational skills would help most young people across the district empower themselves, while at the same time naming micro-loan as a possible means of empowering market women.
