Monrovia – The All April Affairs (AAA), a birth month purposed, social and charity organization, over the weekend visited the Liberian -Japanese Friendship Maternity Center at the J.F K. Medical Hospital in Monrovia and presented several gift items to babies, totaling 59 including a set of twin, that were born in the month of April and their mothers.
According to the Vice President of the Group, Mr. George D. Watkins, the organization was founded three years ago by some Liberians residing in the country and has since attracted other diaspora members across the world that have been making their impact in the activities of the organization. Watkins says Liberians from different professions, religions and social-strata are members of the AAA and are coexisting irrespective of their personalities.
Speaking further, the program Ad-hoc Committee Chairman Mr. Abraham Freeman told reporters that for the 2019 observance of their birth month (April), they’ve scheduled series of activities which are geared toward celebrating April 2019, promoting the purpose of their organization and giving back to society through charity. He intoned that they commenced their activities since the 20th with the hosting of a benefit dinner in Monrovia along a visiting Liberian delegate from the United States, Miss. Oretha Gaye. He says the visit to the Liberian-Japanese Friendship Maternity Center at J.F. Kennedy Hospital was the second scheduled activities and the last was climaxed Sunday over the weekend at the First United Methodist Church on Ashmun Street with a Thanksgiving Service.
Making the presentation to the authorities at Hospital, on behalf of the President of AAA Mrs. Siatta Scott-Johnson, Mrs. Jennie Fallah-Wounuah expressed her profound gratitude to the AAA family for making her feel a part of the gesture. She told the Hospital Administrator that the AAA family feels obliged to present the gift items to those she termed “her nieces and nephews” whose birth dates are recorded in April and further pledged the organization’s willingness to do follow-ups with the parents of the April babies.
Receiving the gift items, the Administrator of the Liberian-Japanese Friendship Hospital Madam Maurene Hawa Nyepan thanked the All April Affairs membership for the gift items. She described the gifts items presented as a good-intentioned gesture and calls on Liberians in the larger society to think of ways and other means to always support humanity. Administrator Nyepan than thanked the AAA family for the gift items and instructed an immediate action to distribute the items to the April born babies and their mothers.
