Monrovia – The president of Alfalit International, Dr. Joseph Milton, at head of a 12-man delegation has arrived in Liberia to revamp Alfalit Liberia chapter’s programs.

According to a release, the team’s visit is to help build the capacity of Alfalit Liberia and to provide refresher training for the Liberia-Ghana Mission team in areas of identified gaps as well as assess the impact of Alfalit International programs support to Liberia.
The team will also ascertain the effectiveness of the new literacy materials currently being used at various literacy programs across Liberia.
Meanwhile, speaking at a press stake out on Tuesday, October 2, Dr. Milton said that while in the country, the team hopes to build strategic partnership with corporate companies in the private sector including Firestone Liberia and communities where Alfalit’s literacy programs are held.
These include schools where the organization through the Liberia-Ghana Mission is supporting hundreds of students every academic year.
According to him, his organization intends to tap on the experience from partnering with other corporate entities in the United States and Angola to engage with the private sector to expand its literacy program; adding that the venture in these countries have been a success and is applicable in Liberia.
In addition, the Alfalit International boss revealed that his organization will also increase its micro finance loan to benefit more students and teachers.
“In 2019 we will be looking at other opportunities to diversify our job skills program. So, the purpose of this trip is to evaluate the current programs and come up with ideas and brainstorm on how we can improve these programs,” he averred.
He furthered out of the 16 countries his organization is operating, Alfalit Liberia is the largest chapter and he was proud to establish such special bond with Liberians over the years.
Each year, since 2006, Dr. Milton and other key staff from Alfalit’s headquarters from Florida in the United States visit Liberia to help strengthen the work of Alfalit Liberia.
This year’s team comprises of 13 individuals including staff from the headquarters’ office and Alfalit Young Professional Board.
While in Liberia, the team is also expected to visit five Alfalit L-GM adopted schools and partner institutions including the Harriette E. Bailey United Methodist School, Destiny Kids Foundation Daycare, TIMOSA Academy, Mt. Zion Christian Academy School and the Destined Kids Assistance Program (DEKAP).
Alfalit International is a faith-based non-profit organization founded in 1961.
Since 2006, the organization established its chapter in Liberia and has been offering literacy, basic education, job and skill training and community development.
