Monrovia – Mr. Sirleaf Tyler, brother of indicted House Speaker J. Alex Tyler, has come down hard on the country’s present generation for what he called their unwholesome acts, which he noted is negatively impacting and posing difficulties on the image of emerging age group.

He said the present generation comprises of thugs, political criminals and ungodly people, noting that government and other state actors’ inability to positively transform their lives from postwar life to that of the present-day is saddening.
He expressed regrets that government and other state actors are only interested in emptying the coffers of the state.
“Sadly, for me, my generation is one of thugs, criminals, marauders, ungodly people, political criminals and vampires that continue to rob Liberia of everything she has”, said Mr. Tyler.
Tyler claimed evidence of his assertion stands from prevailing corruption, nepotism, selective justice, political gamesmanship which he named as the order of the ‘New Liberia’.
He told FrontPageAfrica Monday that there is nothing tangible the country can boast of.
“From a government of killers and thugs in the 90s to a government of thieves and criminals cartels in the 2000s and current, a generation of which I’m part”, he lamented.
Speaking at the commencement program at the Paynesville Central Academy where he delivered the keynote address, the younger Tyler termed as disheartening Liberia’s present state of affairs in which few thousands of dollars are paid to remove national leaders, a situation he said is shifting the destiny of the country.
“We live in a society of you eat, I eat, a society where decisions for the future (for you young people) are made over Hennessy and Double Black Liquors, a society where foreigners mock our Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Branches of government and where the meek and honest get chastised for doing what is right,” Tyler stated.
He noted that in order for Liberia’s future to be great, key factors must be taken into consideration ranging from improved education, better economy and having the mindset of not being too special than the vast majority of the citizenry as well as leaving the future with the upcoming generation.
“Don’t think about your future especially right now, there will be plenty of time to cogitate and to infer on what’s ahead. All you need to do after today is to do everything well and to your best, if you are eating. Do your best at eating healthy, if you are going to further your studies, study well and with the best.”
Mr. Tyler has at the same time emphasized the need for people to start doing things rightly in a bid to change the world, adding “Start by making up your bed rightly, because if you have a miserable day out you can and will come home to a well –made up bed.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tyler pointed out that Liberia can have a generation of success, prosperity, innovation and change if citizens begin to push forward for advancement in their educational sojourn.
