Dakar, Senegal — Acting Chairperson Cllr. Mohammed E. Fahnbulleh is representing Liberia at the ECOWAS Regional Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Democratic Security Reform and Governance, Institutional Stability, and Human Security, currently taking place in Dakar, Senegal.
The regional conference brings together key stakeholders, including national human rights institutions, security experts, civil society organizations, and government representatives, to deliberate on critical issues relating to democratic governance, security sector reform, institutional stability, and the protection of human rights across the West African subregion.
A major focus of the dialogue is the review of the legal framework governing the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) peace and security architecture. The discussions seek to assess existing regional legal instruments and identify opportunities to strengthen democratic institutions, promote accountability, enhance cooperation among member states, and advance sustainable peace and security.

Cllr. Fahnbulleh’s participation underscores Liberia’s commitment to regional cooperation, democratic governance, the rule of law, and the promotion and protection of human rights. The dialogue also provides an important platform for exchanging experiences, sharing best practices, and developing collective approaches to emerging security and governance challenges confronting the region.
The engagement is expected to contribute to ongoing regional efforts aimed at strengthening institutional resilience, promoting inclusive governance, and ensuring that security and governance policies remain responsive to the needs, rights, and welfare of citizens.
Liberia’s participation in this high-level regional dialogue reaffirms the country’s support for ECOWAS initiatives designed to consolidate democracy, strengthen institutional stability, and promote peace, security, and human dignity throughout West Africa.
