Liberia: Government, LSEZA Discuss Investment and Job Creation Agenda

Monrovia – The government is seeking closer collaboration with the Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA) as it continues efforts to attract investment, promote industrial development, and create jobs through special economic zones.

The focus emerged during a meeting between Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Samuel Stevquoah and the leadership of LSEZA, followed by a tour of the Authority’s facilities.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the minister to receive an update on LSEZA’s ongoing activities and developments and to discuss the Authority’s role in supporting the government’s broader economic transformation agenda.

LSEZA Executive Chairman Prince Wreh, members of the Board and senior management briefed Stevquoah on the Authority’s work and efforts to create an environment that can support investment and business growth.

The discussions also highlighted the need for continued coordination between the government and LSEZA as the Authority works to develop and promote special economic zones as platforms for investment, industrial activity and employment.

Members of the LSEZA Board expressed appreciation for the engagement and welcomed continued government support as they provide strategic oversight and work with management to advance the Authority’s mandate.

Stevquoah subsequently toured the facility, where he was briefed on ongoing developments and activities.

At the close of the engagement, LSEZA Director of Administration Hattie Wureh Hunder presented the minister with customized LSEZA paraphernalia and a commemorative lapel.

The engagement comes as the government continues to emphasize investment, industrialization and job creation as key components of its economic transformation agenda.
