Determine Girls FC, World Girls FC, Senior Female Professionals, and Bushrod Queens FC will battle in a tough, five-day competition running from August 12–16.
The tournament is set to deliver a rigorous test of match fitness ahead of the upcoming official season.
The event marks a major milestone for the Bettomax Cup as it expands to include a women’s division for the first time.
The four participating sides all among the standout performers from last season will compete in a two-legged format, with the aggregate winners advancing to the championship clash.
To ease financial pressure and ensure high-level competition, organizers have provided each of the four participating teams with a $1,000 preparation fee.
First-Leg Showdowns
The opening match kicks off at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, when Liberian champions Determine Girls FC take on World Girls FC at TUSA Field.
Determine Girls will look to build an early advantage before the return fixture on August 14 at 4:00 PM. World Girls FC, however, will be eager to disrupt those plans and secure their own path to the final.
At 4:00 PM on Wednesday, the second pairing pits Senior Female Professionals against Bushrod Queens FC.
The teams will meet again in their second-leg fixture on August 14 at 2:00 PM, with the aggregate winner claiming the remaining ticket to the grand final.
Bushrod Queens entered the draw following the withdrawal of last season’s league runners-up, Shaita Angels, who cited player fatigue.
High Stakes Ahead of Regional Duty
Beyond the trophy, the ultimate winner of the tournament will take home the $6,000 champion’s purse.
For Determine Girls FC, the Bettomax Cup serves a dual purpose. The club is scheduled to depart for The Gambia on August 20 to represent Liberia in the WAFU Zone A Women’s competition just four days after the Bettomax Cup final.
Football lovers view the local tournament as a critical opportunity for the team to build tactical cohesion and match sharpness before competing on the regional stage.
The women’s tournament will come to a close on Sunday, August 16, with the grand finale at 4:00 PM at TUSA Field, where the first-ever Bettomax Cup Women’s champions will be crowned.
Meanwhile, the men’s version of the tournament is set to kick off on Saturday at the same venue.
