‘A DREAM COME TRUE’: Tebeh FC President Trokon Roberts Hails Historic Promotion to LFA National Second Division

Monrovia – The president of newly promoted Liberia Football Association (LFA) Second Division club, Tebeh FC, has described his team’s qualification  to the second-tier of Liberian football as a “dream come true,” paying tribute to head coach Aloysius Glassco, his technical staff, and the players for securing the historic milestone.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with FrontPageAfrica, Trokon N. Roberts said the team’s elevation was no stroke of luck, but rather the result of tactical discipline, skill, and sheer hard work from the technical crew and squad.

Tebeh FC sealed their promotion spot following back-to-back wins at the Doris Williams Sports Ground in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County securing a 3-1 victory over Quincy FC followed by a 7-1 thrashing of Gedeh Wolves.

The two wins propelled Tebeh FC to the top of Group A with six points and an eight goals difference.

Their qualification was formally guaranteed after Phebe Athletics and Quincy FC settled to a 2-2 draw. Tebeh FC will play their final group match against Phebe Athletics today, Wednesday, August 12, ahead of the regional playoff final scheduled for Saturday, August 15, at the Doris Williams Sports Ground.

Reflecting on the journey, Roberts highlighted the club’s rapid progression from humble beginnings.

“August 9, 2026, marks a historic day in my life as president of Tebeh FC,” Roberts said. “It all started as a youth football academy for kids between the ages of 12 and 15. Working hand-in-hand with Coach Glassco and the team allowed us to structure proper training, build physical fitness, and hone their skills alongside their classroom education. We fell short during the 2024/2025 Third Division playoffs, but today we have reached the next stage. My goal now is to push this club even further not just in Liberian football, but on the international stage.”

Roberts founded the Tebeh FC Football Academy in 2021 to groom young talent while maintaining a strict mandate on academic discipline.

“I made it clear to every young player from day one that classroom education is an indispensable part of our daily routine,” Roberts emphasized. “Football careers can end unexpectedly, but the knowledge they gain in the classroom will sustain them through life as they strive for a better future.”
