Liberia: Gold Boys Go Top: Bea Mountain Shred Freeport FC in 7–3 Thriller

GARDNERSVILLE – In a breathtaking display of offensive firepower, Bea Mountain FC dismantled Freeport FC 7–3 at the Tusa Field on Saturday, ascending to the summit of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) First Division.

The Round 20 victory serves as a massive statement of intent for the Grand Cape Mount County outfit, who are seeking their first-ever top-flight title after five years of finishing as bridesmaids.

The Williams Show

The “Gold Boys” left the home side shell-shocked from the opening whistle.

Forward Edward Williams delivered a virtuoso performance, netting a hat-trick to lead the scoring charge.

He was flanked by Ralph Weah  and Fredrick Dennis, both of whom bagged a  brace each to round out the seven-goal demolition.

Freeport FC, currently embroiled in a grim battle against relegation, managed to find the back of the net three times.

However, those goals were mere footnotes in a match where their defensive line was repeatedly carved open by the visitors’ relentless high press and quick transitions.

The win moves Bea Mountain to 39 points from 20 matches (11 wins, 6 draws, and 3 defeats), moving them ahead of the pack in what is shaping up to be the most competitive title race in recent memory.

The ‘Cezayir Factor’: A Tactical Masterclass

Since taking over from Cooper Sannah during the league’s second phase, Turkish tactician Ibrahim Cezayir has turned Bea Mountain into an unstoppable team.

The Turkish coach has maintained a 100% win record in all competitions, orchestrating an eight-game winning streak.

Under Cezayir, the team has found a perfect balance between flair and discipline.

The “Lethal Front Three” of Edward Williams, Ralph Weah , and Nuch Zohn have become the league’s most clinical unit, terrorizing defenders with superior pace and movement.

The numbers under the Turkish manager are staggering, Goals Scored: 25 (Average of 3.1 per game), Goals Conceded: 3 and Clean Sheets: 5 (Across all competitions)

Analysis: Four-Horse Race for the Crown

As the league reaches it crucial stage the LFA First Division is a statistical dead heat. While Bea Mountain holds the top spot today, the margin for error is non-existent.

Club     Points Notes

Bea Mountain 39         Currently 1st on Goal Difference

Watanga FC    39         Crucial game in hand

Fassell FC       38         Just one point off the lead

LISCR FC         38         The defending champions remain in the hunt

The upcoming Round 21 fixture between Bea Mountain and Watanga FC is already being billed by local pundits as the “Match of the Season.” For Bea Mountain, a win would cement their status as favorites; for Freeport FC, the road to survival just got much steeper.
