Monrovia – The Chief Executive Officer of a local charitable organization in Liberia, the Kollah Foundation, Martin Saye Kollah has been honored and certificated as “Father of the 2016 / 2017 by the Kingdom Addict Ministries Incorporated, Reigners’ Assembly in the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville, Montserrado County.
Mr. Kollah was honored and certificated as Father of the Year by the Pastoral and Deacon Boards including the Administrator, the Men’s Department and the entire congregation on Sunday, June 26 for his immense contributions to humanity, the church and state over the years.
Besides, the church said, Mr. Kollah is serving as an example of a true father in his community by not only caring and showing concern about his family but community dwellers, place of work and reaching out to the needy in the Liberian society.
In sashing and certificating Mr. Kollah, the Pastor – In – Charge Rev. Mother J. Favor Samuels cautioned: “The Father of the Year to focus on God in all that he will do in life and continue his humanitarian services as God loves people who seek the welfare of others, mainly the less unfortunate”.
Rev. Mother Samuels called on other fathers in Liberia to emulate the life style by administering the affairs of his family within the fear of God and awarding scholarships to many school going children in Paynesville.
In response, Mr. Kollah thanked Reigners’ Assembly for the honor and said he was amazed because most often churches in District Six, Montserrado County usually called upon him for assistance unlike this church.
“It suggests to me that the church has been following up on my various activities in Paynesville ranging from personally life to humanitarian services, among others which add more impetus for me to push forward”, the Kollah Foundation CEO maintained.
He disclosed that over the past ten years, the Foundation has been engaged in community outreach services with focus on construction of modern toilet facilities in Cooper Farm and Baptist Seminary Communities, providing water facility for residents of Zinnah Hill, facilitating various communities – based organizations in the construction of bridges and road rehabilitation, among others.
Mr. Kollah said in addition to his humanitarian services his Foundation is operating a school in the Rock Hill Community that over the years has offered over four hundred children of school going age scholarship aimed at providing them a better future.
He said through the Foundation he has extended alms to disasters victims in the District, Paynesville, to churches and mosques, youth and women groups, other learning institutions as well as social and athletic clubs.
Meanwhile, in his sermon delivered in observance of the church’s Father’s Day, the Assistant Pastor, Michael S. A. Zean challenged fathers in Liberia not to be quiet in disciplining their children.
Pastor Zean said as fathers, they must be responsible by ensuring that their children are brought up the right way and in the things of God.
“It is because fathers are quiet and have failed to discipline their children that is why things are going from bad to worst in terms of moral values and respect”, he mentioned.
Pastor Zean preached from the Text: 2 Kings 6:24 – 33 with the theme: “Fathers Don’t Keep Quite”.
