Montserrado County District #12 Representative Richmond Anderson, has urged young graduates of the Boima K. Corneh Foundation Institute (BCFI) to use their education properly for the betterment of the Liberian society.
The BCFI is located in Daquee Town in Lower New Georgia in the Township of Gardnersville, outside Monrovia.
Speaking Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the first graduation exercises of the institution on the theme: “The importance of education in nation’s building,” Representative Anderson said any education without focus or discipline is a waste to the society
The Montserrado County lawmaker warned the young graduates to implore discipline and obedience if they are to succeed for the better.
He pointed out that any education without discipline is like a waste to society, and as such, this is not good for the rebuilding process of Liberia.
“Your education or your learning must not be a waste to society. When you have learned, you must also be disciplined. You must understand your terrine. Try to obey at all times, because it is through humidity that you can ever make a successful future yourself and Liberia at large,” he stated.
He further urged Liberians to use their education wisely and contribute positively to nation’s rebuilding process.
Representative Anderson said the development agenda of the country cannot be undertaken by the government alone, but all well-meaning citizens.
Representative Anderson, who was elected into the 53rd National Legislature on the ticket of the opposition Liberty Party (LP), noted that ordinary citizens can play pivotal role in the country’s rebuilding process by embarking on community based developmental initiatives.
Madam Kula Corneh, Proprietress of the Boima K. Corneh Foundation Institute called on parents to prioritize the education of their children.
According to her, education is the best treasure that anyone can leave with a child.
You know parents, the only best thing we can give our children is education. There is nothing else better than education that you can leave with your child. It is possible you give them buildings and they mismanage it but if you give them education they will be able to take care of those properties,” she added.
For his part, the valedictorian of the school, Student Caleb A.O. C. Etee, cautioned his fellow graduates to take their education very seriously.
He said it is only through education that one’s future gets brightened.
