Kiwitt, 34, claimed the WBF title in November 2023 with a dominant victory over Luis Enrique Romero. With a professional record of 25 wins, including 15 knockouts, and 3 losses, Kiwitt enters the fight with a wealth of experience.

His opponent, 23-year-old Evander Castillo, holds a career record of 16 wins (15 by knockout) and 2 losses, both by knockout.

In an interview with FrontPageAfrica, Kiwitt acknowledged Castillo’s youth but emphasized his own experience. “He’s eleven years younger than me, but I have the experience, and I’m in my prime,” Kiwitt said.

Undefeated in his last nine fights, Kiwitt views the upcoming match as a crucial defense of his title. “It’s a must-win fight for me,” he said. “This fight will secure bigger opportunities for me this year. My responsibility is to represent Liberia with honor, and I am preparing to be the best version of myself.”

Kiwitt began his boxing career at 18 with DGF Flensborg in Flensburg before turning professional in 2013 in England. He has held multiple titles, including the WBO European welterweight title in 2019 and the African welterweight title in the same year. In December 2022, Kiwitt won the German super welterweight championship in Flensburg.

Outside of the ring, Kiwitt is active in promoting boxing in developing countries through his “Boxing is Love” initiative and recently opened his own gym in Weiche.

For his upcoming fight, Kiwitt plans to train in Ghana and London, aiming to showcase his experience and honor Liberia on the global stage.
