Every year, rising sea levels (sea erosion), have swept away many people’s houses, including my parent’s home, in West Point. So, sea erosion have always been a part of West Point’s history. (Re “Atlantic Ocean Washes Away 72 Homes in West Point”)
Back in 1970’s, I lived in West Point, near M.V Massaquoi School. In some years, the sea would recede, but one year it kept coming closer and closer until one day it swallowed our house!
But year in and year out, people KEEP going back and forth to the SAME West Point beach to build their shanty houses even though it’s well known that erosion could likely occur sooner or later!
As Albert Einstein once said, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
So, the question is, what’s wrong with these idiots who keep building their shanty houses on the sandy beaches, when we all know that erosion is likely to occur?
Are they insane? Or just plain STUPID?? I believe the latter is true. But my heart goes out to them. Nor ma yah.
