As round one matches of the ongoing National Third Division Playoffs came to an end on Sunday, 28 May 28 2023 at the ATS on the UN Drive with four crucial matches, Weintown United Football Club has filed in a protest against Samukai FC after they suffer a 2-1 defeat in theirc opening game of the competition.
The Margibi County outfit club Weintown United Football Club ⚽️ wrote a complaint in which they stated that Champions Samukai FC of Sinoe County fielded an illegal player in which it is a violation of the competition.
The communication which was written on 27 May 2023 to the Competition Committee of the Liberia Football Association stated that player Amaza Kollie wearing jersey number 10 in such defeat is a player of Sinoe County only top-tier club Sinoe NPA Anchors of the Orange National League-2nd Division.
In addition, the communication indicated that player Amaza Kollie featured in a match against Pags FC at the ATS which ended in 3-1 in favor of Pags FC in the just ended Orange National League-2nd 2022-2023 league season.
According to the Regulations of the 2023 Playoffs which is in my possession of the Registration aspect states
1.3. There should be no additional of player ( s) from other club (s) for the purpose of partaking in the playoffs.
In addition here are penalties for violators
▪︎ SubAssociation: Suspension of the Sub-Association Chairman
▪︎ Club’s forfeiture of point (s) for all match (es) played with said player (s)
▪︎ Player (s) : Six months suspension from all LFA activities
In another development, below is the full receipt paid by Weintown United Football Club to indicate such protest after a letter of communication.
It is not yet been made official from the Protest Committee of the competition but what we do know of that the receipt justified that such matter is factual.
Champions Samukai FC of Sinoe County defeated Weintown United Football Club 2-1 on Saturday, 27 May 2023 at the SKD PP in Paynesville.
The Margibi County 2022-2023 runner-up Weintown United Football Club is hoping that such matter is handle in the soonest time before the team’s next fixture which is schedule for 30 May against Bong County outfit club Tusa FC at the same venue.
Weintown United Football Club is paired in Group C along with Samukai FC ( Sinoe), Tusa FC ( Bong ) and Brewerville United ( Monsterrado County).
The Riverside Club Weintown United Football Club gain qualification to the Playoffs after clinching the championship of the Lower Sub-Committee of the LFA-Margibi SubAssociation but suffered a narrow defeat in the grandfinal of the Margibi County Championship in April at the Unification Sports Pitch in Smell No Taste to Africa Sports Academy from an own goal with full-time ending in 1-0
