In a statement from the Executive Mansion, President Boakai’s initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.

According to the release, the CSA has blocked the salaries of government officials who failed to follow the President’s directive.

“To maximize the impact of the accumulated funds, which total approximately $90,808.56, the President has instructed the CSA to collaborate with the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning (MFDP) to establish an escrow account,” the release disclosed.

The Executive Mansion statement disclosed, “These funds will be allocated toward the ‘One Child, One Chair’ Presidential Initiative to enhance learning conditions in primary and secondary schools across the country.”

In addition to this measure, President Boakai, according to the Executive Mansion, has mandated the CSA to partner with the Ministry of Education (MOE) to ensure the timely procurement and distribution of chairs to schools in need.

Furthermore, the Bureau of State Enterprises (BSE) has been tasked with implementing similar actions for officials of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) who are currently suspended for non-compliance with the asset declaration requirement. Funds generated from these initiatives will also be redirected to support the “One Child, One Chair” initiative.

President Boakai asserts that these actions reinforce his administration’s commitment to integrity in public service and prioritize policies that directly benefit the citizens of Liberia, especially school-aged children.

He, however, called on all public officials to comply with asset declaration regulations to foster greater accountability within the government.
