Monrovia – President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has returned home following a successful participation at the just-ended World Bank High-Level Panel on Fragility, Conflict and Violence held in Washington DC and said a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) is expected in Liberia shortly in response to an intervention made by her for international support to the growing need in the private sector.
According to an Executive Mansion release, the Liberian leader made the disclosure when she addressed journalists at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) upon her arrival from Washington DC, America on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 where she had gone to attend a World Bank High Level Panel.
The Liberian leader said while the delegation is in the country, they will find out how the International Finance Corporation IFC can be of help to the private sector, fragile and middle-income countries.
She pointed out that upon arrival in the country, the IFC team will among other things will work with the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to identify and address issues in the private sector.
She noted that such support from the IFC would deal with some constraints in the development process in fragile countries, particularly in emergency and in revenue decline.
President Sirleaf was met on arrival by several senior government officials led by the Coordinator of the Cabinet.
