Monrovia – The man who headed the friends of Urey, a group seeking to ensure the election of Benoni Urey as the next President of Liberia, Emmanuel Lomax relationship with Benoni Urey has turned sour with the parties separating through harsh word of words.
“The deliberate failure of Hon. Urey in delivering on his promises as mentioned supra is not only embarrassing but a gross disservice to our people, at whose detriment he amassed the wealth that he and his family are enjoying today”.
“We the incorporators and majority members of the leadership of the Friends of Benoni Urey Humanitarian and Education Foundation have not only resolved to cease our existence, but to also resign from Urey’s ALP” – Emmanuel Lomax, Chairman Emeritus, All Liberian Party
Lomax Friday at a news conference announced his resignation from the All Liberian Party where he was Chairman emeritus.
He at the same time announced the dissolution of the Friends of Urey Humanitarian and Education Foundation where he (Lomax) served as founding chairman as well.
Lomax said the lack of support and cooperation, the inconsistency and deceitful posture of Mr. Benoni Urey in empowering the organization to deliver on its four formation pillars, among giving micro-loans to marketers across the country.
The ALP Chairman emeritus noted that Urey lied to Liberians that he was giving motorbikes to motorcyclists under a 50% subsidized arrangement, granting scholarships to deserving students in the 15 counties and implementing strategic community development projects in Liberia.
Lomax noted that he has successfully served the organization, saying the organization can undoubtedly boast of numerous achievements since its inception in February 2014 while he (Lomax) was serving as head.
He said besides recruiting thousands of members across Liberia and abroad, the greatest achievement of the group was the establishment of what is today styled and referred to as All Liberian Party (ALP).
“the deliberate failure of Hon. Urey in delivering on his promises as mentioned supra is not only embarrassing but a gross disservice to our people, at whose detriment he amassed the wealth that he and his family are enjoying today”.
“We the incorporators and majority members of the leadership of the Friends of Benoni Urey Humanitarian and Education Foundation have not only resolved to cease our existence but to also resign from Urey’s ALP,” he noted.
He stated that he and his team will embark upon a nationwide tour to hold consultations with Liberians across the country.
Flight form Justice – ALP relies Lomax
Reacting to Lomax resignation, the Office of the National Chairman of the All Liberian Party said it has accepted the resignation letter of its former Organizing Chairman Emmanuel A. Lomax.
Mr. Lomax in his communication stated that his resignation was a result of “philosophical differences with the Political Leader and the Party”. In good faith, the National Chairman of the Party, Hon. J.S.B. Theodore Momo, Jr.
“On behalf of the Political Leader, the National Executive Committee and the entire membership of the All Liberian Party, replied Mr. Lomax thanking him for whatever services he may have rendered the Party, the ALP stated.
“Surprisingly, in less than two hours, Mr. Lomax convened a press conference at which time he made disparaging remarks about our Political Leader, Hon. Benoni Urey and the All Liberian Party. We wish to make it categorically and unequivocally clear that his utterance is a complete misrepresentation and has no iota of truth,” the party continued.
In a statement reacting to Lomax under the signature of the party’s newly elected chairman Hon. J.S.B. Theodore Momo, Jr described Lomax resignation as a flight from justice.
“truth, Mr. Lomax’s resignation, is a flight from justice, stemming from his fear of an intensive ongoing investigation based on numerous complaints emanating from citizens in all of the counties, in which he is the central mastermind of a rice scandal, ID Card fraud, and the embezzlement of funds totaling over hundred fifty thousand united states dollars,” the statement indicated.
According to the statement, the investigation was commissioned by Hon. Benoni W. Urey, Political Leader of the All Liberian Party due to his zero tolerance on corruption.
“It can be recalled that the same representatives of the people that were victimized as a result of Lomax bad leadership, were delegates that elected the Officials of the Party at the All Liberian Party’s First National Convention in Gbarnga, Bong County at which time Mr. Lomax was disgracefully defeated in his bid for the National Chairmanship,” it further stated.
The statement added: “Interestingly, after the convention, Mr. Lomax and Chairman Momo appeared on a local radio station where Mr. Lomax pledged his unflinching support and loyalty to the Party”.
“It is extremely regrettable that Mr. Lomax will choose at this time to make unsustainable allegations against the Party and the Political Leader,”
According to the ALP statement, as Mr. Lomax plans nationwide tour and consultations, the ALP and its Political Leader therefore urge all those defrauded through the ID card scheme orchestrated by Mr. Lomax as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Principal Incorporator of the Friends of Benoni Urey Humanitarian and Educational Foundation–FOBU, to hold him (Lomax) personally accountable and responsible for their money and benefits as he did not remit one dollar to any institution and made no financial report to the All Liberian Party up to the time of his resignation.
In conclusion, the ALP statement noted that the Party is fully aware of the historicity of the political gimmicks and machinations of Mr. Lomax, who has been the single most beneficiary of the Party’s resources and personal goodwill of Urey, Political Leader of the All Liberian Party.
“We therefore wish to urge all our loyal partisans, supporters and well-wishers at home and abroad to continue the party vigorous recruitment program and not give credence to Mr. Lomax as he again displays his disposition of political prostitution from one party to another”, the ALP declared.
