Paynesville – Youths of Nezo Junction Community and members of the Muslim community there have hailed the Inspector General of Police, Patrick Sudue, and other individuals who immensely contributed to the community during the Holy month of Ramadan.
At an honoring held over the weekend, the young people of Nezo community noted that their recognition of Col. Sudue was based on his dedication in providing security for the Muslim community during the Holy month.
Col. Sudue thanked the Muslim community for the honor, promising to ensure more safety measures for all Liberians.
Inspector General Sudue indicated that his mandate is to protect lives and property in the borders of the Republic of Liberia, as such; he is obligated to provide services for all regardless of their religious affiliation.
“I am not an IG for a certain class of people and I have a mantle of authority to protect all because I am a grass rooter for peace and harmony,” IG Sulue said.
IG Sudue stated that the recent deployment of officers of the Liberia National Police at various mosques around the country was done to ensure that the Ramadan remained peaceful and was also intended to protect peaceful citizens.
“We are proud today to report that there was no incident of violence or crime reported from mosques across the country during the observance of the fast and prayers or the Ramadan,” Police IG noted.
The Police chief promised more engagements with the Muslim community and reiterated the police commitment to its called mandate to protecting lives and properties.
Other members of the Muslim community were also honored including former police 102, Abraham Kromah and former representative Sekou Kanneh for their work and services over the years to the Liberian people.
For his Part, former Representative Sekou Kanneh cautioned youths against crimes in the community and urged them to ensure to be law-abiding citizens in order to create a violence-free community.
In the same vein, Hon. Kanneh lauded the youths of Nezo Community for such honor and promised his continuous support the development of the community and Muslims in general.
