Minister Samuel Tweah to Chair Harvard Ministerial Roundtable On Human Development Policy Innovation

Monrovia – Liberia’s Finance and Development Planning Minister, Samuel D. Tweah Jr. has been selected by his alumnus of Harvard Ministerial Leadership program for his demonstrating brilliant leadership, experience in office and thoughtfulness on the issues that are focus of high level initiative during his participatory roles, commitment and high intellectual discussion and is expected to cheer Harvard Ministerial Roundtable on Human Development Policy Innovation at the Westcliff Hotel, Johannesburg, South Africa from November 25-27 2018.

According to the Invitation from the Harvard Ministerial Leadership Program, they are impressed by the fiscal challenge, administrative policies, structural reforms and the way of diversifying the economy and strengthening the private sector as the ultimate engine of productivity and job creation less than seven months in his new administration.

The Treasury Boss was also recognized by the alumnus of Harvard Ministerial Leadership program for his high leadership spirit and ambitions to change the narrative of the pro-poor agenda for development and prosperity in Liberia and pace-setter, role-model-worthy of emulation to other growing Africans economy.

The selection clearly justified that Minister Tweah is making a tremendous effort in revamping the economy of Liberia and making it be on par with other potential nations in the world through the pro-poor agenda for development and prosperity.

The aim of Minister Tweah to cheer the roundtable discussion is to combine far thinking political leadership with smart young Africans, leading the way for their generation in order to develop substantive ideas for innovation in human development policy and a fresh approaches to major challenges impeding prospects for a demographic dividend.

The key objective is to informed and inspired opportunities and implements the scale-up innovative policy initiatives and investment to better ensure appropriate education, healthy and productive young people, advancing economic participation by women as well as developing more effective approaches to job creation and entrepreneurship.

At the roundtable discussion, Minister Tweah is expected to produce a personal agenda of innovative policy options appropriate to tackling challenges specific to their situation and map how to implement those strategies.

At the close of the discussion, participating Ministers will produce a set of policy briefs providing options and recommendations for innovative, inter-sectoral human development policies applicable to different African contexts

The Treasury Chief is committed to ensuring that the financial sector of Liberia undergoes consistent reforms which will help to safeguard the nation’s resources. And moreover, he is also poised that Liberia will become a middle-income country.

Harvard Ministerial Leadership Program is a joint initiative of Harvard T.H Chan school of Public Health, Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the Harvard Graduate School of Education in collaboration with big win philanthropy and with the support of the Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation.
