Man Nabbed for Criminal Conveyance of Land

Monrovia – A man identified as Amos Geadoe have been arrested and forwarded to court for illegally surveying two lots of land belonging to Philip Saa Tali.

Report by Augustine T. Tweh, augustine[email protected]

Geadoe, according to the records, had an intent to sell the said property to another person.

States the police charge sheet: “In violations of Chapters 15 & 12 Sections 15.21 & 15.23 of the revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia, Amos Geadoe was arrested, investigated and subsequently charged with the crimes “Criminal Trespass and Criminal Conveyance of Land” for his involvement in colluding with surveyor Daniel D. Johnson on December 21, 2018 survey two lots of land located Gardnesville, Kesselly Boulevard with intent to sell same to Rev. Theo Nma without the knowledge of Mr. Philip Saa Tali.”

At the same time, surveyor Daniel D. Johnson is also wanted by the Monrovia City Court for his alleged involvement in the act. He is said to be currently on run.

The charge sheet also mentioned that the property in question was purchased by Philip Saa Tali in 1990 from defendant Geadoe and his family for USD$1,050.00.

The document showed that defendant Amos Geadoe along with his family members – Ketekpu Geadoe and Kai Geadoe – as administrators of the property.

They signed and issued to Mr. Tali a warranty deed dated 8th April 1990 probated and surveyed by John S. Jones.

The police finding also established that defendant Geadoe admitted to police investigation that he sold the land in question but at the same time claiming ownership of said property.

The report also described defendant Amos Geadoe as a “dubious” character, who on December 1, 2018 took surveyor Daniel D. Johnson to survey a land belonging to Tali in his favor with the intent of selling said property.

“In view of the foregoing, coupled with the circumstances and the various facts mentioned herein above, leaves the investigation to believe that the warranty deed dated 8th April 1990 issued to Mr. Philip Saa Tali by the Geadoe family, namely: Ketekpu Geadoe, Kai Geadoe and Amos Geadoe as administrators is genuine.

“Hence suspect Amos Geadoe is therefore charged with the crimes of Criminal Trespass and Criminal Conveyance of Land,” Police charge sheet added.

When contacted, suspect Amos Geadoe, now defendant refused to comment on the issue stating “I can’t talk to you now because I am in court”.
