
MONROVIA – The Government of Liberia (GoL), through the National Tourism Authority (LNTA), has confirmed the upcoming visit of internationally recognized digital content creator, Darren Jason “iShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. to the country.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 21, 2005, Watkins, widely known by his online pseudonym IShowSpeed or simply Speed, is an American YouTuber and online streamer. He is one of the most popular online streamers and Internet personalities in the world.

In preparation of ‘IShowSpeed’ visit here, LNTA in a statement disclosed that it it is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant government institutions to provide the necessary diplomatic and protocol support to ensure a safe, seamless, and respectful visit, consistent with national standards and international best practice.
Ishowspeed’s visit dubbed: “The Liberian Experience,” the Tourism Authority explained, is part of his “Speed does Africa Tour” which presents an immense opportunity to Promote Liberia’s Brand Image, tourism potential and authentic cultural exchange as he experiences Liberia’s warm hospitality.

“His goal while in country is focused on real-time engagement with his fan base while interacting with Liberia’s urban culture, communities, food, and everyday life through various activities,” read an LNTA statement.
As the Government’s lead tourism and Culture institution, the LNTA renews its commitment to showcasing Liberia’s cultural-heritage value, hospitality, and people in an authentic and positive manner to global audiences.
Meanwhile, LNTA has encouraged Liberians to showcase their country’s best and help uplift its image to the world in the spirit of national pride.
