Ganta, Nimba County – Government officials, including Public Works Minister Roland Lafayette Giddings, Attorney-at-Law Nyekeh Y. Forkpa from the Ministry of Education and Deputy Minister for Economic Management Dehpue Y. Zuo from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning accompanied Dr. Zarau Wendeline Kibwe, Executive Director of the World Bank Africa Group on a field tour of major development projects in Nimba County.

Highlighting rapid advancements in roads, education and energy, Dr. Kibwe expressed satisfaction with the World Bank-funded initiatives during his first mission to Liberia.
These efforts align closely with the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, Liberia’s second-largest rural sector donor after the African Development Bank.
Officials showcased the World Bank-funded Saclepea-Tappita Corridor.
The 39 km Saclepea-Tappita Road stands at 90% complete, while the Tappita lot is 94% done, pending a major bridge. Full completion is targeted for September-October 2026.
The tour also covered the completed Raila-Saclepea Stretch, which has slashed travel time from seven hours to two-and-a-half hours. Upcoming is the RETRAP Project from Tappita to Toe Town, which is valued at $30-45 million.
