
Monrovia- Defending Liberian football champions Watanga FC and betting company Bettomax have identified with ELWA hospital in Paynesville.

The gesture is part of the Liberian champions sponsor Bettomax , corporate social responsibility.
Bettomax signed a sponsorship with Watanga and obligated itself to giving back to the community.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony on Saturday, the operational manager of Bettomax, Fallah Braima, said his company was delighted to support the health sector of Liberia through Watanga FC.
“We are happy to be here again at the ELWA hospital, one of Liberia’s long standing health facilities. We are here in partnership with Watanga FA Football Club,”
“We are here today for one purpose and that is our corporate social responsibility and in partnership with Watanga FC every month we reach out to a health facility, community engagement or an individual that needs help and give a thousand United States dollars to them in order to assist and contribute to the society,”. Fallah Braima said.
Fallah said their intervention was as a result of inquiries made and was informed that the hospital was in need of detergents and other supplies as such they decided to extend their hands to the hospital.
“We are hoping that this cash donation of a thousand United States dollars given to you will be used to purchase materials in that direction and we are hoping this will not be the first or last time as this is a process ongoing every month and base on how you guys will use it and the reaction we might be coming back to do bigger things in the future,” the Bettomax Liberia Operational Manager said
Responding to the donation, the Administrator of ELWA, Rev. James Freeman Galway, thanked the Liberian champions and Bettomax betting company for their contribution toward the hospital.
He said the presentation came when they really needed it and said it will go a long way in the operation of the upkeep of the hospital.
Rev. Galway promised to use the cash for the intended purpose, adding they will provide a comprehensive report to Bettomax and Watanga on how the cash was expended.
“We are grateful to God for this wonderful gift especially Bettomax and Watanga recognizing the responsibility and performance of ELWA hospital to the general public, we are grateful that we are being recognized and that you can come to give this donation we want to say thank you”
“We also want to assure you that this money will be used to purchase those items that will directly benefit our patients,” Rev Garway said.
Speaking on behalf of Watanga, Chief Executive Officer G. Andy Quamie appreciated Bettomax for living up to its promise of providing help to whatever initiative Watanga identifies monthly.
He said as a club based in Paynesville and ELWA hospital is situated in the same community, it’s good to give back to the hospital.
“In as much as we play on the football field we also want to identify with the needs so whatever we can do to impact the society and community we will do,” Andy said.
He added the club will see if they can sign an MOU with the hospital to treat their players when they are sick or get injured.
Saturday’s donation by Watanga and Bettomax is their third, having done the same at JFK medical center and Redemption Hospital respectively.
