Margibi—Margibi County Electoral District Five Representative Clarence G. Gahr has once again demonstrated his commitment to humanitarian service by donating 300 bags of 25kg rice and L$450,000 to Muslims across his district in observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

This annual gesture, which began at the inception of his leadership in 2017, has become a cornerstone of his support for Muslims in the district during Ramadan—a sacred period when Muslims observe 30 days of fasting.
Amara F. Mammy, Administrative Assistant in the Office of Rep. Clarence G. Gahr, speaking at the distribution ceremony held on Monday in Weala Town, Margibi County, underscored the spiritual significance of assisting Muslims during Ramadan.
He noted that despite Rep. Gahr’s many development initiatives, the lawmaker considers it essential to prioritize support for the needy, emphasizing the immense spiritual rewards of giving for the sake of Almighty Allah.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Muslim Community, the Deputy Grand Mufti of Margibi County, Imam Hassan Sesay, praised Rep. Gahr for his consistency and generosity.
He prayed for Allah to grant the lawmaker strength and long life so he can continue supporting Muslims in the district.
Imam Sesay highlighted Rep. Gahr’s longstanding efforts to uplift communities, describing his contributions as a blessing to District Five.
He added that the donation of rice and cash comes at a critical time when many households are struggling to afford basic necessities.
“Providing these items at the right time is worthy of commendation,” Imam Sesay said, quoting verses from the Qur’an and Hadith on the virtues of helping others, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
For his part, Karimu Fahnbullah, a staff member of Rep. Clarence G. Gahr and a Muslim, reaffirmed the lawmaker’s commitment to sustaining the annual tradition.
He stressed that Rep. Gahr has been making such donations since 2017 and intends to continue.
He reminded the gathering of the blessings associated with giving: “When you give one, Almighty Allah gives you one. When you give ten, Allah gives you more than fifty. Allah will continue to bless Hon. Clarence G. Gahr.”
According to Muslim leaders in the district, the donation is expected to bring relief to hundreds of families across Margibi District Five, ensuring that those observing Ramadan have food to break their fast.
