Liberia: “Prophet Key” to Face Police Interrogation Over Alleged False Credentials

This police invitation follows the NEC’s recent decision to disqualify Prophet Key from participating in the upcoming Nimba County Senatorial By-lections.

Monrovia – Popular social media personality Nayaborqua Oldpa Yeazeahn, widely known as “New Zoe Prophet Key,” has been summoned by the Liberia National Police (LNP) for questioning in connection with alleged fraudulent documents submitted to the National Elections Commission (NEC).

According to a credible LNP source, Prophet Key is scheduled to appear at LNP Headquarters on Monday, April 14, to respond to concerns over discrepancies in his academic qualifications and residency status, which were part of his application to contest the Nimba County Senatorial By-election.

The NEC recently disqualified him from the race, citing false information in his registration documents and his failure to meet the residency requirement outlined in the elections law. The disqualification has since prompted a formal investigation by the LNP to determine whether the documents he submitted were falsified.

“Our investigators are interested in determining whether documents submitted to the NEC were falsified and if there is a pattern of misrepresentation,” said a police source familiar with the matter.

“Prophet Key”, known for his outspoken social media presence and commentary on national issues, had declared his intention to run for office, drawing mixed reactions from the public. His attempted entry into formal politics has been marred by controversy surrounding his credentials and eligibility.

Heightened security is expected at the LNP headquarters on Monday, as the police brace for his appearance, which may attract both supporters and critics.

As of now, no formal charges have been announced, and the outcome of Monday’s questioning will determine the next steps in the investigation.
