Monrovia –President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has received the Letters of Credence of four newly accredited ambassadors to Liberia, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations in support of the country’s development agenda.
The credential ceremony, held at the Executive Mansion, forms part of President Boakai’s broader vision to deepen international cooperation, attract investment and position Liberia as a credible and strategic partner in the global community through the implementation of the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
At separate ceremonies, President Boakai received the Letters of Credence from Mohamed Kenewi Konneh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Special Representative of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission, Paul Richard Simister, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Brashir Sarkis, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lebanon and Carsten Hölscher, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Welcoming the envoys on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, President Boakai reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with their respective governments and the ECOWAS Commission.
ECOWAS Pledges Stronger Regional Cooperation
Presenting his credentials, ECOWAS Ambassador and Special Representative Konneh conveyed warm greetings from the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray and reaffirmed the regional body’s commitment to working closely with Liberia in promoting regional integration, peace, security and sustainable development.
Ambassador Konneh praised President Boakai’s leadership and pledged ECOWAS’ support for the implementation of the Government’s ARREST Agenda.
“As a region, we admire the role of Liberia in governance and leadership which aligns with ECOWAS objectives for freedom of expression and regional peace and security in line with President Boakai’s ARREST AGENDA to project a good image of ECOWAS,” the ECOWAS envoy said.
United Kingdom Reaffirms Historic PartnershipUnited Kingdom Ambassador Simister conveyed warm greetings from His Majesty King Charles III, the Government and people of the United Kingdom.
He reaffirmed Britain’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with Liberia and pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest throughout his diplomatic assignment.
Lebanon Seeks Closer Bilateral Ties
Lebanese Ambassador Sarkis also conveyed greetings from General Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, and the Lebanese people.
He reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to expanding its longstanding bilateral relationship with Liberia and pledged to strengthen cooperation in areas of shared interest.
Germany Commits to Expanding Cooperation
German Ambassador Hölscher extended greetings from German President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier and reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to its longstanding partnership with Liberia. He pledged to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in support of the shared interests of both countries.
Boakai Calls for Deeper Diplomatic and Economic Cooperation
President Boakai reiterated Liberia’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the ECOWAS Commission while further strengthening its longstanding bilateral relations with the Republic of Lebanon, the Federal Republic of Germany and the United Kingdom.
The Liberian leader wished the newly accredited ambassadors successful diplomatic missions in Liberia and assured them of his government’s full support as they work to advance common priorities.
He emphasized that his administration remains committed to fostering stronger diplomatic and economic cooperation by creating an enabling environment for increased trade, investment and sustainable development.
