Monrovia – The spokesman of the Liberia National Police (LNP), Moses Carter, has been suspended for administrative reasons, FrontPageAfrica has gathered.
FrontPageAfrica gathered from the Press and Public Affairs office of the LNP that his suspension was a direct verbal order from the Inspector General of Police, Col. Patrick Sudue.
While the main action leading to his suspension remains unknown, FrontPageAfrica gathered from LNP sources that his suspension is linked to recent public statements relating to the July 26 political violence between the CDC-COP and the members of SUP. FrontPageAfrica has, however, not been able to verify this information.
Amid the public outcry for the arrest of perpetrators of the violence and humiliation of the SUP member Christopher W. Sivili, Carter told the public that police could not effect any arrest at the time because there was no complainant in the case.
When contacted, Carter said he has heard of his suspension but was yet to receive an official communication.
