Wilson sat attentively with a solemn facial expression as he listened to the judge’s final ruling banishing him for a quarter of a century for murdering the late Officer Bedell.

Wilson, 22, was sentenced on Thursday, August 30, by Criminal Court “A” Judge Roosevelt Z. Willie. He is expected to serve out his jailed term of 25 years at the Monrovia Central Prison beginning Thursday, August 30.

“In view, therefore, defendant Darious Wilson is hereby convicted for the crime of murder and is hereby sentenced to imprisonment for 25 years,” the court final ruling said.

Judge Willie added that convict Wilson was sentenced to prison for twenty-five years because of his plea for mercy and open confession before the court.

“The defendant, when he was indicted, pleaded guilty to the crime of murder as charged against him, meaning that the defendant having known the consequence and alluded to the crime of murder asked this court to exercise justice with mercy,” he said.

Wilson was indicted by the Grand Jury of Montserrado County on June 4, 2018 for allegedly killing an officer of the Liberia National Police identified as Moses Bedell in the LBS Community in Paynesville.

According to the court, during the period of May 4, 2018 at about 2100 hours, then defendant now convict, knowing, intentionally, and willingly hit the deceased on his head with a rock weight ten pounds during a tussle which led to the officer’s death.
