The inspection, led by Hon. James K. Momo, Assistant Minister of Administration, included notable team members such as Mr. Shiafa L.A. Dennis, the Technical Focus Person for ArcelorMittal, along with Musa V. Sheriff, Albert Sumo, and Aldopheus Yeahe.

The purpose of the visit was to validate the concession fleet listing of these companies and evaluate their compliance with MOT regulations, focusing on vehicle registration, insurance, and licensing for both light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles.

During the inspection, Assistant Minister Momo urged all concessionaires operating in remote areas to ensure that their earth-moving equipment adheres to MOT regulations to avoid any operational setbacks.

He stated, “It is essential that all companies perform their due diligence to prevent any embarrassment regarding compliance.”

The Assistant Minister also indicated that the Ministry of Transport plans to conduct further tours of various concession companies across the country to ensure adherence to national policies and regulations.

The management of ArcelorMittal Liberia welcomed the Ministry delegation and expressed their commitment to complying with the required regulations and processes.

This inspection underscores the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance regulatory compliance within the transportation sector, particularly in areas associated with mining and resource extraction.
