On Monday, January 21, Chief Clerk Mildred Siryon, acting on the mandate of the Co-Chair of the Rules, Oder and Administration Committee, Rep. Marvin Cole, wrote Edwin M. Snowe, inviting him to a meeting with the committee on Wednesday, January 23 to speak on his alleged act seeking to subject the House to public disgrace.
However, moments later, Chief Clerk Siryon wrote another communication to the Bomi lawmaker apologizing for the previous communication and noted that it was misdirected to him.
“I present compliments and register my regret for mu communication that was misdirected to you labelling you as one of the members of the House of Representatives whose alleged actions seek to bring the House of Representatives to public disrepute. I sincerely apologize and by this communication, withdraw said communication.”
‘Don’t mess With Snowe’
Meanwhile, a member of the House of Representatives, speaking on condition of anonymity has warned Speaker Chambers and his associate to not “mess with Rep. Snowe.”
According to the lawmaker, Snowe has been one of the voices of conscience at the 54th Legislature and working with the leadership to restore sanity at the Lower House.
He added that any political witch hunt perpetrated against him will backfire.
Rep Snowe currently chairs the Committee on Foreign Affairs and heads the Liberian delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament.
As former Speaker, he is highly respected by his colleagues and most legislative interventions he makes are considered by his peers.

Three members of the House including Reps. Jay Nagbe Sloh (CDC, Sinoe County Dist. #2), Adolph Lawrence (CDC, Montserrado Dist. #15) and Yekeh Kolubah (Montserrado Dist. #10, NPP) are being investigated by the Committee on Rules, Order and Administration for calling on the House’s leadership to probe into a barrage of allegations of malpractices perpetrated by House Speaker Bhofal
