Liberia: George Wade Alias Nicholas Davies Sent to Jail for Scam, Harassment, Rape, Among Others

Monrovia – George Wade, a defendant charged by the Liberia National Police with multiple criminal offenses, seems unfazed by the allegations against him, as he remains optimistic about being free despite his crimes.

Wade, also known as “Nicolas Davies I,” 39 years old, was taken to the Monrovia City Court on Thursday, May 4, to answer to the charges against him, but was later remanded at the Monrovia Central Prison on the order of Magistrate Ben Benbarco.

Defendant Wade was charged with alleged crimes of rape, sexual assault, simple assault, terroristic threat, felonious restraining, menacing, criminal coercion, armed robbery, forgery or counterfeiting, theft of property, and disseminating false information.

During the investigation, Defendant Wade admitted, in the presence of his legal representation, to committing the crimes levied against him by his victims.

According to the LNP, the crimes contravene Chapter 14, Section 14.70, 14.21, 14.24, 14.51, 14.25, and 14.27, including Sections 15.30, 15.32, 15.70, 15.51, and Chapter 18, Section 7 of the Penal Law of Liberia.

The LNP noted that the defendant, purposely, knowingly, and intentionally had intercourse with women, who were not his wives, without their consent, causing bodily injuries, both physical and psychological, and threatening his victims to harm or kill them while unlawfully restraining them.

His crimes also included subjecting his victims to involuntary servitude and taking many photos or video recordings of his victims, using weapons such as single-barrel shotguns, pistols, and knives.

“Also, for illegally having LRD 76,500.00 worth of fake LRD 500 banknotes, suspect George B. Wade alias Nicolas Jack Davis has been charged and sent to court,” the LNP Charge sheet noted.

During his appearance in court, Magistrate Ben Benbarco informed Defendant George B Wade alias Nicolas Jack Davis that he is entitled to a lawyer and to take advantage of the law.

However, following his appearance, Wade was sent to prison.

Meanwhile, while on his way to prison, Defendant Wade maintained that he will be back.
