Liberia: FLAC, MCC Partner to Beautify Major Streets Ahead of Christmas

Monrovia – The Federation of Liberian Associations in Canada (FLAC), has partnership with the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC), to carry out its annual “Paint the City” Campaign.

The ceremony which kicks up on Saturday, December 20, 2025, along the Broad Street brought together staffers of the mcc and some key members of flac.

Aimed at the initiative, is to improve urban aesthetics and promoting civic pride, in the country’s capitol.

Supporting the beautification of the city, FLAC donated 30 buckets of paint in quest to give a face lift to the busiest commercial corridors.

Representing the organization, we’re Hon. Jallahqueena Hawa Konneh, Liberia’s Trade and Investment Representative to Canada, and Mr. Bill Sandy, CEO of QE24 (Canada).

In a telephone interview, FLAC President, Mr. Joseph Zangar Bright, highlighted the importance of strong collaboration between Diaspora organizations and the Government of Liberia in advancing national development.

“Liberia’s development is a shared responsibility, as Liberians in the Diaspora, we believe it is essential to work hand-in-hand with the Government of Liberia and local authorities like the Monrovia City Corporation.”, Zangar stated..

According to him the “Paint the City” Campaign reflects FLAC’s broader commitment to community’s development, volunteerism, and positive civic engagement, among others.

Receiving the donation major of the Monrovia City Corporation welcomed the partnership, describing the initiative as a meaningful contribution to the city’s ongoing efforts to improve cleanliness, and orderliness.

City Mayor, John Siafa praised FLAC for its continued support and encouraged other Diaspora and local organizations to engage in similar collaborative efforts.

The annual “Paint the City” Campaign has become a flagship civic initiative for FLAC, symbolizing unity, and patriotism.

The Federation of Liberian Associations in Canada (FLAC) is an umbrella organization representing Liberian community associations across Canada.

It is dedicated to promoting unity among Liberians in the Diaspora, and supporting community development initiatives, to Liberia’s social and economic progress.
