Speaking at the dedication ceremony, Madam Esther Tuopay, CEO of Eva Huston Pantry, expressed her joy in supporting underprivileged Liberians, particularly orphans. She emphasized her commitment to continue working for the betterment of humanity.

“The dedication of this hand pump is part of our effort to ease the daily struggle faced by many Liberians in Monrovia and its surrounding areas in accessing clean and safe drinking water,” Tuopay stated. “Our desire to support orphans and the less privileged comes from the legacy of my late mother, Eva Huston, who always ensured that no one went hungry. She shared everything we had with those in need.”

Tuopay explained that after discovering the orphanage’s challenges in accessing clean water, she decided to build the hand pump to ease the burden of the children.

She also acknowledged the vital support from River Road UMC, which helped make the hand pump construction possible. “I am truly grateful to the River Road United Methodist Church for their financial and moral support in this project. Their partnership has made this initiative a reality, and it will undoubtedly make life easier for the children here who previously had to travel long distances to fetch water.”

Tuopay further extended her gratitude to the orphanage’s administrators for their warm hospitality and to her sponsor, the River Road UMC, for their continuous assistance.

The dedication of the hand pump and the donation of food items are part of ongoing efforts by Eva Huston Pantry to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families in Liberia.
