Monrovia-Residents of Montserrado County district 14 over the weekend Kickball off a football and Kickball peace and unity tournament at the cow factory Sports Pitch.

The residents witnessed what was a spectacular football and Kickball actions that brought together eighteen communities of the district.
The tournament that is expected to last for 21 days is organized by the Sustainable Coaches of District-14 and sponsored by Representative aspirant Kerkula Muka Kamara with the aim of uniting the people of district 14 ahead of a critical national election.
Speaking before the kick-off, aspirant Kerkula Kamara revealed that the tournament is intended to encourage community dwellers to unite despite their political differences.
“Over the past twelve years the young people hope have been left behind, And we feel this is not good for the development or our district that is why we decided to bring you guys together in this sporting way,”
“We have 18 communities participating in this tournament, we want to use the tournaments to make our young people busy and for them to show love, unity and peace for each other,” Kamara said.
The District-14 representative hopeful disclose that each of the 18 participating communities received eight thousands Liberian dollars and two sets of Jerseys for their teams as preparation fee.
He said the winners of the football category of the tournament will walk away with fifty thousand Liberian dollars and a trophy while the Kickball winner will take home forty thousand Liberian dollars with a trophy.
The runners up in the two categories will received thirty thousand and twenty five thousand Liberian dollars respectively in the football and Kickball version.
He urged the community to play in the name of peace.
“Let us unite ourselves hold together and shared our thoughts on how we can improve our district,”.Muka said.
“We are mobilizing and encouraging our people to attach seriousness to the registration process which will permit them to participate in the civic process comes October 2023,” he said.
“We intend to organize series of programs in various communities to educate young people about their role as citizens, their rights and responsibilities, the importance of voting,” he said.
