Monrovia-The Board of Tax Appeals(BoTA) will on Wednesday, April 29 depart Monrovia for Sinoe and River Cess Counties as part of its ongoing nationwide taxpayer awareness campaign aimed at educating citizens on their rights and the tax appeals process.
The outreach, under the theme: “Know Your Bill of Rights and the Importance of the Tax Appeal Process,” is intended to strengthen public confidence in Liberia’s tax system by promoting cooperation between taxpayers and the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).
According to the Board, the first one-day workshop will be held in Greenville City, Sinoe County on Thursday, April 30 to be followed by a second engagement in Cestos City, River Cess County on Saturday, May 2.
BoTA said the initiative will bring together business owners, civil society actors and local stakeholders to deepen understanding of the institution’s mandate, the appeals process and taxpayers’ rights under Liberian law.
The Board noted that the campaign comes as southeastern cities such as Greenville and Cestos continue to grow as emerging commercial hubs, making taxpayer education increasingly critical.
