Liberia: Beah Promises Transparent, Efficient Administration in LKF Vice Presidential Bid

PAYNESVILLE – Ahead of the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) Electoral Congress, the President of Ecclesia Kickball Club, Phelim Beah, has pledged to champion sweeping administrative reforms, transparency, and accountability if elected as Vice President for Administration.

By Emmanuel Weedee-Conway

Launching his campaign under the theme, “Together, We Can Build a Stronger, More Transparent Liberia Kickball Federation,” Beah described the upcoming June 20 polls in the port city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, as a defining moment for the future of the sport in Liberia.

“I humbly present myself as a candidate for the position of Vice President for Administration, offering a commitment to integrity, professionalism, accountability, and service,” Beah said.

If successful, Beah will serve alongside incumbent LKF President Emmanuel Whea, who is poised to secure a third term unopposed.

Beah noted that his immediate vision is to collaborate with Whea’s leadership to establish a responsive administrative framework capable of addressing the needs of county sub-associations, clubs, athletes, coaches, and officials.

“Leadership is about listening before leading,” Beah emphasized, promising to introduce digital record-keeping and modern administrative practices to phase out outdated operational methods.

“This campaign is not about promises that cannot be fulfilled. It is about practical leadership, measurable results, and a shared commitment to making the Liberia Kickball Federation stronger than ever before.”

A total of six positions are up for grabs at the upcoming congress. However, due to a lack of challengers, four of those positions including President, Vice President for Operations, Secretary General, and Treasurer will be decided by a “white ballot” (unopposed vote).

The only contested seats on the ballot are the Vice President for Administration position, which Beah is vying for, and the Assistant Secretary General post, which is being contested by James D. Waka.

In a related development, Beah has donated a set of blue-and-white jerseys to the Liberia Kickball Coaches Association ahead of their highly anticipated exhibition match against the LKF Presidents Association this weekend.

The donation was received by the Coaches Association’s Vice President for Operations, Jerry S. Kennedy.
